In 2010 the public computer center at Asian Community Technology Center (ACTC) received 10 new computers, business-class Internet access, new furnishings, and the ability to offer specific computer classes with formal instruction as part of a partnership with the University of Minnesota’s Broadband Access Project (BAP). The computer center at ACTC is located on the first floor, accessible from the back door. It is open to the public, also by appointment for classes. Originally geared toward youth, its focus changed due to demand for classes by adults.
Special Note - Parking at ACTC
Due to the ongoing construction on University Avenue, the ACTC parking lot has become difficult to get to. However, street parking is available one block north of University on Sherburne Avenue. From University, turn on Arundel Avenue to get to Sherburne. Walk south one block on Arundel (or Western Avenue) to reach University. Take the sidewalk on the north side of University to get to the Asian American Press Building. Walk through the parking lot and ring the bell on the side door to be let into the computer lab.
Busing to ACTC--Take Metro Transit route 16 to the Western and University stop. The bus will let you off on the south side of the street. Cross University to get to the north side and the Asian American Press building will be down the sidewalk to your left.
